[Albany, NY] - Today, Beestera Soccer Training, the Capital Region’s leader in supplemental soccer training, announced the creation of a new nonprofit, the Beestera Foundation, to provide support to youth sport organizations in underserved communities.

​Historically, youth sport in the United States has been largely divided based on socioeconomic status. More middle- and lower-income families have fewer resources to expend on quality sporting experiences for their children. With the increase of “pay-to-play” fees, many families in underserved communities are priced out of opportunities for professional coaching, state-of-the-art facilities, and adequate equipment.

Through its philanthropic efforts, the Beestera Foundation will provide youth sport clubs and organizations with scholarships, equipment, coaching education, and operational support.

​

“We are excited to embark on this new chapter to continue developing great athletes and even greater young people through sport,” stated Matthew Needham, Team Training Director at Beestera Soccer Training.

​“In my 12 years of coaching experience, I have witnessed the significant gaps between the ‘haves’ and the ‘have nots,’” explained Josh Binfield, Executive Director of the Beestera Foundation. “The Beestera Foundation is committed to changing this notion and improving the youth sport experience, regardless of one’s socioeconomic background.”

​Binfield currently serves as a Physical Education Teacher and Varsity Girls Soccer Coach at Albany High School. He also coaches with Beestera Soccer Training and volunteers his time with Albany Soccer Club.
