Beestera Hosts First Capital Region Club Night at NOVUS HQ

Bringing together directors and coaches from local clubs for an evening focused on collaboration, player development, and the future of youth soccer across the Capital Region.

Last week, we hosted our first-ever Capital Region Club Night at NOVUS HQ, bringing together directors and coaches from seven different clubs across the area to discuss collaboration, and the future of soccer in our community.

It was about getting good people in the room who genuinely care about players and giving everyone an opportunity to share ideas, talk openly about the current environment, and discuss where we can collectively improve the experience for kids in the game.

Throughout the evening, James Beeston (Director of Private Training) presented our Beestera methodology and gave a live look into how we’re using the app day-to-day to support player development.

Kurtis Smith (Director of Club Development) followed with practical examples of how that same methodology is applied directly within team environments and club training sessions, showing how it translates from individual development into real club settings.

“We’ve been wanting to do something like this for a while. As a club-neutral training provider, we’ve spent a long time building relationships with coaches across the Capital Region, and it was pretty special having influential people in the room who can help shape the direction of soccer in our area.” - James Beeston

We also shared more about the Beestera app and some of the resources we’re continuing to build to better support players, parents, and clubs.

The best part of the night was opening the floor. Hearing different perspectives from directors across the Capital Region, listening to where clubs are struggling, where players are struggling, and having real conversations around the current state of youth soccer was valuable.

One thing that kept coming up throughout the night was player dropout. The pressure, comparison, burnout, expectations, and environment many young players are navigating today is very different from what it used to be. As full-time coaches working with players every single day, we see that firsthand.

That’s a big reason why we’re so passionate about building resources, creating better environments, and helping players stay connected to the game for longer.

We truly believe the Capital Region has people trying to do good things for players. Events like this are about strengthening those relationships, sharing ideas openly, and continuing to raise the standard together.

A huge thank you as well to the team at NOVUS for hosting us and showcasing everything they offer clubs, including:

  • Team packs

  • Uniforms

  • Practice kits

  • Online club stores

  • Custom apparel

Their setup and hospitality made the night even better. The response from everyone in attendance was really positive, and we’re already planning the next Capital Region Club Night for early July.

The goal moving forward is to keep bringing people together, keep having honest conversations, and keep finding ways to make the youth soccer experience better for players and families across the Capital Region.
