Beestera Staff Volunteer Through United Way to Support Unity House in Troy
5/21/25, 4:00 PM

As part of United Way’s 5/18 Day of Action, Beestera staff rolled up their sleeves to support the mission of Unity House and give back to the Capital Region community.
Last Friday, Beestera Soccer Training staff stepped off the field and into the community as part of United Way’s annual 5/18 Day of Action. Team members volunteered their time at Unity House in Troy, NY — helping with the landscaping around the house, organize supplies, and support essential services for those in need.
The volunteer day was coordinated through United Way of the Greater Capital Region, which connects local businesses and organizations with nonprofits for impactful community service. Beestera’s participation reflects its core belief in developing the individual within the collective — a philosophy that extends far beyond soccer.
“Service days like this are a reminder that community goes deeper than sport,” said Mike Matera, Co-Founder of Beestera. “Partnering with United Way to support the incredible work at Unity House gave our staff the chance to give back, grow closer, and live out our values.”
Unity House provides vital services including housing, food programs, domestic violence support, and mental health resources. Beestera plans to continue its community outreach through partnerships like this, reinforcing a culture of character, teamwork, and civic responsibility both on and off the pitch.
