Beestera celebrates Leigh Howard’s return from the Special Olympics World Winter Games, where she represented Special Olympics USA as a Unified partner in floorball.
At Beestera, we take great pride in celebrating the achievements of our staff, both on and off the field. This month, we shine a spotlight on Leigh Howard, a valued member of our hive, for her outstanding accomplishment at the Special Olympics World Winter Games Turin 2025—where she not only represented Special Olympics USA as a Unified partner in floorball but also played a key role in securing a bronze medal!
Leigh recently returned from Turin, Italy, where she competed alongside athletes of all abilities, exemplifying the power of inclusion, teamwork, and resilience. Her participation on the world stage reflects her deep commitment to using sports as a platform to unite, inspire, and empower.
As a dedicated coach and leader at Beestera, Leigh brings this same passion into her work every day. She goes beyond developing technical skills - she fosters an environment where every athlete feels encouraged to grow, compete, and THRIVE. Her involvement in Special Olympics and Unified Sports aligns seamlessly with Beestera’s core philosophy: developing the individual within the collective.
Reflecting on her experience in Turin, Leigh shared:
“Being part of the Special Olympics World Winter Games was an experience of a lifetime. Competing alongside these incredible athletes and witnessing their determination, passion, and resilience firsthand reinforced my belief in the power of sport. It’s not just about competition—it’s about bringing people together and creating opportunities for everyone to succeed.”
Beyond her coaching and advocacy, Leigh is also a passionate adventurer. From summiting Mount Kilimanjaro to trekking the Tour du Mont Blanc and running seven marathons, she embodies the spirit of resilience - values she instills in the athletes she works with at Beestera.
As she returns from the journey in Turin, Leigh brings back not just memories but a renewed sense of purpose in continuing to promote inclusivity through sport. We are incredibly proud to have her as part of the Beestera Hive, and we look forward to the impact she will continue to make on and off the field.
Welcome back, Leigh!
