TBF's Inaugural Cornhole Tournament Raises $2750 Toward Youth Athletic Programs

Inaugural fundraiser brings community members together.

[Albany, NY] - The Beestera Foundation, a Capital District nonprofit dedicated to providing opportunities for aspiring young athletes in underserved communities, hosted a highly successful Cornhole Tournament Fundraiser at Fort Orange Brewing in Albany, New York, on Saturday, March 9th.

The inaugural event saw an incredible turnout; the 100+ attendees enjoyed an evening of friendly competition, delicious food from Buena Comida, and the chance to win exciting raffle prizes.

"We are overwhelmed by the tremendous support we received at our Cornhole Tournament Fundraiser," said Josh Binfield, Director of The Beestera Foundation. "It was heartwarming to see the community come together to support our cause and have a great time in the process."

The tournament was fiercely competitive, with teams battling it out for the coveted $1000 prize for the winning cornhole team. Cheers and laughter filled the air as participants showcased their skills and camaraderie.

Thanks to the generosity of attendees and the support of local businesses, the event raised over $2750, which will go directly towards supporting the Foundation’s programs and initiatives in the community.

"We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Fort Orange Brewing for hosting our event and providing the perfect venue for an evening of fun and philanthropy," added Binfield. "We would also like to thank the local vendors who generously donated gifts for our raffle, contributing to the overall success of the fundraiser."

The Beestera Foundation recently began its Spring 2024 “Just Play” program at Sheridan Preparatory Academy. Previous “Just Play” programs have provided over 200 children with the opportunity to play soccer in a safe space. On Saturday, March 16th, Binfield will also be at the ‘Black Family Wellness Expo’ at Giffen Memorial Elementary School to award five children with scholarships to attend soccer camps this summer.

"We are thrilled about the impact this fundraiser will have on young athletes in our community," concluded Binfield. "Their passion and dedication inspires us to continue our mission of creating opportunities for them to thrive in sports and beyond."
